Cocoa, Coffee and Caffeine: How Helpful (or Harmful) is a Cup of Joe?

And if you aren’t a coffee drinker, there’s no need to pick up the habit in the hopes of reaping some of the benefits associated with coffee, since it’s not clear that those benefits outweigh the risks associated with drinking it — especially in large amounts.

What does a starfish symbolize?
http://wiki.answers.com/Q/What_does_a_starfish_symbolize
It is a story of a old man on the beach who sees a young boy walking along throwing starfish back in the ocean. The man tells the boy there are miles of stranded starfish, he won't make a difference. The boy throws another one back in the ocean and tells the old man that it made a difference to that one.

Starfish: In Christian symbolism the Starfish represents the Virgin Mary (Stella Maris which means Star of the Sea) who lovingly creates safe travel over troubled waters and is also seen as an emblem of salvation during trying times. The star as well as the Starfish are seen as celestial symbols and as such, they represent infinite divine love. In addition to love, the Starfish also holds characteristics such as guidance, vigilance, inspiration, brilliance and intuition. |

Community-supported agriculture
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Community-supported_agriculture
Community-supported agriculture (in North America sometimes known as community-shared agriculture)(CSA) is an alternative, locally-based socio-economic model of agriculture and food distribution. A CSA also refers to a particular network or association of individuals who have pledged to support one or more local farms, with growers and consumers sharing the risks and benefits of food production. CSA members or subscribers pay at the onset of the growing season for a share of the anticipated harvest; once harvesting begins, they receive weekly shares of vegetables and fruit, in a vegetable box scheme, and also sometimes herbs, cut flowers, honey, eggs, dairy products and meat, as well. Some CSAs provide for contributions of labor in lieu of a portion of subscription costs.
An example of a week's CSA share, includingbell peppers, okra, tomatoes, beans, potatoes, garlic, eggplant, and squash.

A small talk survival
"The key to small talk is to avoid in any way making conversation that has to do with business," says Daniel Menaker, author of A Good Talk,
about how conversations work. "By definition, small talk is not
goal-oriented. Or if it is goal-oriented, the goal is to make yourself
conversationally available to other people in a way that shows you are
not just single-mindedly entrepreneurial, but that you're a human being,
and that you can find common ground."
There's this thing psychologists call a "promotion orientation." It involves thinking of the conversation as a series of opportunities rather than a minefield of embarrassment (thinking of it that way is "prevention orientation"). The promotion orientation involves making eye contact and smiling. (Which are the two most powerful tools a person having a conversation has at his or her disposal. You can say, "I'm into string" to a total stranger, and if you say it with eye contact and a smile, it can seem brilliant.)
The second stage of small talk is all about promotion orientation. "Don't think, Don't say this, don't do something stupid, don't go on too long," says Sam Sommers, associate professor of psychology at Tufts University and author of Situations Matter: Understanding How Context Transforms Your World. "If you have all these don'ts and negatives in your head as you go into an interaction, you tend to come off looking like someone who had a bunch of negative thoughts in their head and distracted and not engaged."
At a party or a networking event (as opposed to a meeting, where the duration of small talk is somewhat fixed), there is a point at which you must decide if this is a conversation worth continuing or a conversation worth ending. The eyes are the deciding factor, not the conversation. If the other person's eyes wander, even a little bit, you should get out. If the eyes wander, you throw out your exit line. "I see a friend I need to speak to; it's been great talking to you." Or, more generously: "It's been great talking to you; I'll let you get to some other people now." Or, the best exit line ever developed: "I'm going to the bar. Can I get you something?" If the other person wants to continue the conversation, they will say yes. If they don't, they will say no. And so you act accordingly.

Forgot your iPod in the washing machine? Dropped it in the pool, tub or toilet? Here's some things to try before throwing it out:
- Quickly pull it out from the water
- Don't turn it on (to avoid frying the circuits)
- Wipe off the liquids
- Don't heat it with a hair dryer
- Put the iPod inside a dry ziploc bag with rice grains (uncooked) (rice absorbs moisture) / silica packets
- Put the iPod in a warm dry place and leave it there for 1-2 days
- Charge it
- Cross your fingers and turn it on.

Beta driver fix for not being able to save custom resolution

Use version 258.96?
http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/54194-3-resolution-higher-native
"LCDs cannot go beyond native resolution. It is phyiscally impossible since due to the specific number of pixel.
What might be happening is the resolution is being down converted back to native resolution or it sets the "usable" desktop space to 1920 x 1080 (or whatever), but only 1440 x 900 is displayed at a time. You would need to scroll to view the rest of the "usable" desktop space." -- works for CRTs though ...

*Your monitor, Model : L196WTQ-BF is the finest 19" currently offered by LG and your NVidia does not even warm up to do this.
MONITOR:
The LG is a great 19" and 1440 x 900 is not stressing it at all. This is the "Native" resolution which means 1440 x 900 is the "optimum" or "perfect" resolution setting for this monitor. Contrary to popular belief, the maximum resolution can be configured considerably higher. With a bit of tweaking my 19" wide LCD and NVidia GeForce-256 displays 1920 x 1200 just fine. Also, using the 32bit color depth setting actually displays the monitor’s max of 24bit.

Squeaky Wheels of Debate
Squeaky Wheels. We often
talk about the importance of having a diverse network, one that includes
people who think differently than you, challenge your ideas or engage
you in debate. And though we may find these relationships uncomfortable
at times, research by Charlan Nemeth at the University of California
shows that this slight discomfort actually makes us more creative. When
teams were asked to solve a problem by brainstorming--where a safe
environment was created and no idea was criticized--the debaters (who
challenged each other) came up with twenty percent more ideas then the
brainstormers. And, when individual team members were later asked for
more ideas, the brainstormers produced an average of three ideas, the
debaters produced seven. According to Nemeth, "debate and criticism do
not inhibit ideas but, rather stimulate them." Best advice: don't
remove the squeaky wheels from you network, instead embrace them.
