EcoMUVE - virtual environments to teach middle school students about ecosystems and causal patterns.

http://ecomuve.gse.harvard.edu/

EcoMUVE is an exciting new curriculum research project at the Harvard Graduate School of Education that uses immersive virtual environments to teach middle school students about ecosystems and causal patterns.
EcoMUVE includes two two‐week computer‐based modules within a four week inquiry‐based ecosystems curriculum.
The goal of the EcoMUVE project is to help students develop a deeper understanding of ecosystems and causal patterns with a curriculum that uses Multi‐User Virtual Environments (MUVEs). MUVEs are 3‐D virtual worlds that have a look and feel similar to videogames. They are accessed via computers and, in our case, recreate authentic ecological settings within which students explore and collect information. Students work individually at their computers and collaborate in teams within the virtual world. The immersive interface allows students to learn science by exploring and solving problems in realistic environments.
The EcoMUVE project is supported by the Institute of Education Sciences (IES), U.S. Department of Education.
The EcoMUVE project team recently received funding from the National Science Foundation and Qualcomm's Wireless Reach initiative, for a new follow-up research project, EcoMOBILE. (Ecosystems Mobile Outdoor Blended Immersive Learning Environment).

The best coop games for the PS2 are Hack n’ Slash (so if you don't like hack n' slash you are probably out of luck):
Baldur’s Gate Dark Alliance 1 and 2 (the most fun)
Champions of Norrath/Return to Arms (fun)
The Dynasty Warriors/Samurai Warriors games (fun)
Star Wars Legos I&II (fun)
Mortal Kombat: Shaolin Monks (fun)
Xmen Legends I & II (unopened on shelf)
Hunter Wayward (not fun)

FPS coops:
Timesplitters Future Perfect (the best) and Timesplitters 2 (fun)
Darkwatch (fun)
Half Life (includes a few missions called Decay which are coop) (OK)
Medal of Honor: Rising Sun (OK)
Rainbow Six 3 (not my favorite)
Delta Force Black Hawke Down (haven’t played it enough to form an opinion)

Stealth coops:
Splinter Cell Chaos theory and Double Agent (fun).

Horror coops:
Obscure and Obscure 2 (fun when playing coop)

Platformer coops
Tak the Great JuJu Challenge (fun)
Cookies and Cream (fun)
Wallace & Grommit Curse of the Wererabbit (not as bad as it sounds)
Avatar the Burning Earth (really bad game).

Foosball - How to stop a ball

Recommended Practice: Start slow at first. Lift up all of the guys in between your 2-man defense bar and your 3-man offensive bar. Practice hitting the ball all the way from the back to the front and stop the ball with your 3-bar. You can use a slight forward wrist-flick motion to cushion the ball as it approaches its target. This motion needs to be quicker as you increase the speed that the ball is traveling. Increase the speed of your hit until you can hit it at near full speed and can stop the ball dead at your 3-bar.
Learn to Cut Off as Much of the Goal as You Can From Your Opponent: The old defensive adage holds true in foosball: "Stay between the ball and the goal." Notice I did not say, "Stay between your man and the goal." Follow the ball and stagger your defender and goalie to block as much area of the goal as you can. This can require different degrees of stagger and swapping

no-cd works on multiplayer only

http://www.allgame.com/game.php?id=25838&tab=controls

* attack by patroling or hitting z - by either clicking the patrol button itself, or hitting z (standard hotkey for patrol). Patrolling in units is the most popular way to attack because all the units in the same group will target and attack the closest enemy unit to that group together, making it a smart way to attack, without requiring too much micromanagement.
* press H+Shift+C while the game is still loading
* when attacked, amass army away from the action, update rally points
* don't be afraid to runaway from loosing battles, wait for more units before attacking again
* build house on where the villager is standing
* set rally points of TCs on buildings that needs to be built
* setup building rally points of military buildings in front of TCs even before the bulding is completely built
* number them by pressing Ctrl+Number even before the bulding is completely built
* house bug - click a house and try building it on the enemy, it will turn red if there's already a building
* build buildings side by side to protect the other sides and easy management
* build markets early if black forest or michi, sell things cheap in early stages of the game
* map control
* best way to kill villies is with scouts
* two builders don't build twice as fast
* triangle-walling half-built walls to protect villagers while building castles

put all military buildings in 1 group and use tab to switch between them nub. ???? doesn't seem to work on 1.0c .... Probably from AOE1 only http://aoe.heavengames.com/academy/hotkeysandcommands/shortcuts.shtml

i leave them. but u want to use the ones on the left side of ur keyboard (so there close to ur other hotkeys) so once u get to like 6 u should stop using them.
my control groups:

3 dock
4 ranged units
5 inf units

obtain trade evolution pokemon
Obtain Trade-Evolution Pokemon
Pokemon such as Graveler, Haunter, Machoke, and Kadabra will only evolve when traded. You can use this trick to evolve these Pokemon using only a single DS.

Requirements:
Must have access to GTS
Must have Wi-Fi

1. Head to the GTS in Jubilife City with the Pokemon you want to evolve.

2. Deposit your Pokemon in the GTS. Request something that is IMPOSSIBLE or very rare to get, to decrease the chances of your Pokemon being traded. If your deposited Pokemon is traded, the trick will fail.

3. Seek for a Pokemon on the GTS and make any trade.

4. Once you finish the trade, withdraw the Pokemon you had deposited in the GTS. If you did the trick right, it should evolve as if it was traded.

You can do this trick with any Pokemon that is evolved through trading.

Sega CD:

Sonic CD (Great game, the US version and the Japanese version had totally different soundtracks, I perfer the Japanese one)
Robo Aleste (Sega CD) (sequel to M.U.S.H.A, no FMV BS, just one great shoot 'em up with great redbood soundtrack)
Snatcher (The rarest Sega CD game, A MUST HAVE FOR ANY SEGA CD OWNER, this game is in my top ten favorite games of all time!)
Android Assult (a.k.a Bari-Arm) (Lightening Force mixes with Gate of Thunder for the TurboDuo)
Eternal Champions CD (Better than the Genesis version, the only Sega CD game that shows 256 colors on screen (almost all of the Genesis games shows 64 colors on screen))
Heart of the Alien: Out of This World Parts 1 + 2 (From the makers of Flashback, this has two games in one: Out of This World 1 and 2)
Silpheed (The ONLY Sega CD title with polygons)
Lunar The Silver Star (Fan favorite of the Working Designs published games)
Lunar II: Eternal Blue for Sega CD (Sequel to Lunar)
Vay (Great game from Working Designs)
Popful Mail (My personal favorite Working Designs game, Action/RPG goodness)
AH3 Thunderhawk (One of great Sega CD games, uses alot of the Sega CD's sprite scaling and rotation that the hardware was able to do)
Dark Wizard (A favorite by many RPG fans)
Final Fight (Sega CD) (Great arcade port, light-years better than the horrible SNES version, great soundtrack)
Shining Force CD (Very rare, but excellent RPG)
Keio Flying Squadron (One of the early games with an anime cover-art, also one of the most weirdest shooters for the Sega CD, RARE)
Soul-Star (Star Fox on sprites and looks better too)
The Space Adventure (Good storyline, plays like Snatcher, VERY RARE)
Earthworm Jim: Special Edition (Just the first Earthworm Jim with improvements, get it if you don't own the Genesis version)
Ecco The Dolphin (Better on the Sega CD for its sound)
Ecco: Tides of Time (Better on the Sega CD for its sound)
Rise of the Dragon (Better than the PC version, more extras like great voice acting)
Mickey Mania: The Timeless Adventures of Mickey Mouse (Love Mickey Mouse, then buy this)
Spider-Man vs. the Kingpin (Better than the Genesis version)
